The following is a fictional analysis of the current debate involving two conflicting cosmological viewpoints: the heliocentric theory v. the geocentric theory. The geocentric viewpoint discussed here focuses specifically on the "flat earth” version of geocentricity--the view of Earth as central, stationary and also flat. To bring this debate to life, the two theories are exposed below in an imaginary court case. The courtroom setting makes a useful stage for a civil exchange of ideas, requiring the best evidence for both points of view to be examined, as well as exposing glaring weaknesses. The dialogue that follows is based on real struggles to correctly interpret accessible scientific evidence. Therefore, a sizable bibliography is attached in order to document some of the scientific and theoretical concepts discussed. It is interesting to note that this list of publications exposes a surprising amount of historic information already in print on this debate from the last 150 years. (104 pages)
